Privacy
Plain language. Last updated October 11, 2026.
What we collect
A username, a password (stored as a salted hash, never readable by us), your date of birth (to confirm 18+), an email if you give one, your character and everything it does in the game, and the messages you post or send. Advertisers and artists also give us a business or artist name, an email, a link and the files they upload.
Signing in with Google
If you choose Continue with Google, Google tells us your email address and an account number so we can sign you in. We do not get your Google password, your contacts or anything else, and we do not post anything for you.
Counting visits
We use Google Analytics to count visits to the site and to see which pages people use. It sets its own cookies in your browser, and Google keeps that information on its own servers, which can be outside Canada. We send it page visits and a few plain events: someone signed up, someone logged in, a business booked an ad. We do not send it your username, your messages, your date of birth, your email, or what your character does. We have switched off its advertising features. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load it for you at all.
What we do not do
No ad trackers, no fingerprinting, no selling of data, ever. Besides the analytics cookies above, one cookie keeps you signed in.
Where it lives
Your account, your character and your messages are kept in Canada, on Google Cloud in Montreal, Quebec, and we do not move them outside Canada. The two exceptions are the ones named on this page: Google sign-in, if you use it, and the visit counts kept by Google Analytics.
What we use it for
Running the game, keeping it safe (reports, bans), counting how many people saw an ad (totals only, never who), and, if you gave an email, sending you your weekly report or a note when your track goes on air. No marketing email unless you ask for it.
What others see
Your username, your character, where it is in the city, what you post and say in public places. Direct messages are only between the two of you, though a human may read them if one of you reports the other.
Weather
The game asks Open-Meteo for Toronto's weather from our server. Your device never talks to them.
Your rights
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete your account and everything with it. Email hello@tdotlife.app from the address on the account, or message from inside the game. We answer within 30 days, usually within a day.
